Liverpool city centre is currently undergoing a multi million pound reconstruction. A skyline of cranes is visible here with the Anglican Cathedral in the background.

The Metropolitan Roman Catholic Cathedral which was opened in 1967.
Matthew Street Cavern Quarter with statue of John Lennon.
The Cavern Pub, Matthew Street directly opposite the site of the original Cavern Club where The Beatles performed in the sixties. The original club was closed in 1973 and demolished to make way for improvements to the city's underground railway Metro system.
The Cavern Pub is a tribute to the original club and has a host of memorabilia featuring instruments and signed photographs of many of the artists that appeared at the famous club.

Liverpool F. C. is also associated with two major football tragedies. In 1985, 39 football fans died (38 Italians and one Belgian) and the museum pays its tribute.
96 Liverpool fans died in the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. This is a floral mural inside the museum.
There are a colllection of shirts in the museum. These are the shirts of Brain Hall from the 1974 F.A. Cup victory and an Emlyn Hughes England shirt from the same similar era.
